Aftercare

What Kind of Soap?
- Dr. Bronners, antibacterial, limited ingredient and/or natural or baby/sensitive soaps. Be attentive.
- Please try to avoid any harsh or unnatural chemicals/fragrances/ingredients as they can react with the ink or negatively affect healing.
- If your tattoo starts burning, becoming inflamed, or shows any signs of a negative reaction, STOP
using that product immediately and rinse thoroughly

What Kind of moisturizer?
- I use Hustle Butter during the tattooing process and recommend it for the healing process as well, but there are several wonderful options! such as tattoo chapsticks. Many lotions do not last as long as tattoo or healing salves.
- Try to avoid petroleum jelly alone as it isnt' very nourishing and can be easily overdone/suffocate the tattoo and even cause clogged pores.

What to Avoid?
- For the next two weeks at least, avoid soaking your fresh tattoo
- Do not scrub your tattoo with a washcloth and be mindful of abrasive clothing/activites.
- Avoid direct sunlight
- Avoid restrictive clothing.

- NEVER USE PEROXIDE OR ALCOHOL ON YOUR HEALING/FRESH TATTOO

Healing With Saniderm:
- After your session is completed, your tattoo will be thoroughly cleansed and then covered with
saniderm a clear adhesive bandage.
- Leave on for up to 24hrs
- Tattoo oozing and weeping under saniderm is to be expected
Changing Your Saniderm:
- Easily removable with soap and water
- Let the area dry for 5-10 minutes, do not let any contaminants near your tattoo as it dries
(Animal dander, dirt, bacteria, etc.)
Applying A New Saniderm:
- Do not put on any lotion or ointment
- Area must be fully dried
- Peel the white side o
first
- Place new bandage on your tattoo
- Peel the clear side o

& pat to make sure the sticky film has fully adhered

Removal of Saniderm:
- Follow same steps above
- Wash 2-3 times daily for at least the next week
- Keep moist with any tattoo ointment, butter, or salve for at least the next week
Healing Without Saniderm:
- For at least 2 weeks, apply any tattoo ointment, butter, or salve (don’t recommend any petroleum
based jelly)
- Wash your tattoo 2-3 times daily
- Don’t let running water hit directly, let the stream hit higher up and run down over your fresh
tattoo
- You will experience itching, flaking, and possibly scabbing; do not scratch - a good way to
contend with the itching is to slap your tattoo and keep it su

ciently moisturized.

What Else:
- You can tattoo the area again after 2 weeks
- Highly advised to apply sunscreen to your healed tattoos to preserve color and clarity
- Touch ups recommended every 4-10 years. Free touch up included without the first year :)

I'm happy to do my best to oblige. If you are on a budget, let me know and we'll talk about our options to stay at or under your specified amount.  For example: You may not be able to afford a detailed realistic color portrait of your mom, but perhaps we can do a simplified, neo-traditional, black and grey portrait and stay within budget.

According to existing law (Colorado Body Art Act 25-4-2103, Parental Consent for Minors), it is a crime to perform body art on a person under the age of 18 years without written consent of a parent or legal guardian. Your legal guardian must be present and both of you will have forms to sign. Please bring identification/proof of age and identity.

Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in?

My studio is attached to my home and accessible via a separate entrance, but it is still on my personal property and I prefer to have notice of visitors please and thank you. I most typically tattoo by appointment only, but sometimes can accommodate last minute requests :) Please reach out  by  call or text for a prompter response.

Do you do piercings?

We currently do not have a piercer on our team, but we do have a small selection of body jewelry available.
